Cosmetology Program

Program Details
The 1200 clock hour curriculum for students enrolled in the Total Beauty Institute Cosmetology Program consists of theoretical and practical instruction, which is divided into individual units of learning. Within the 1200 clock hour program students will be taught through the medians of theory and practical instruction and written and practical exams pursuant to the requirements of the Florida Board of Cosmetology. Theory Instruction means instruction through discussion, question and answer, problem solving, projects, demonstration, theory classes, lectures, field trips, guest artist and audio visual presentations. Practical Instruction means the actual hands-on performance by the student, using skills they have learned and then perform them on clinic salon clients, other students and on mannequins. The program of instruction is as follow; business management, customer service, salon retailing and target marketing classes are taught through out the program

Program Requirements
- Valid High School Diploma/ GED
- 16 Years of Age
- Good Health and Physical Condition
- U.S. Citizen or Permanent Resident
Graduation Requirements
All Cosmetology Program students must complete the specified 1200 clock hours, which include academic theory classes and tests and required practical clinic salon services. At the end of the program, a copy of the student’s tuition payment record, attendance record, academic grades and practical services sheet will be submitted to Management for review and approval before the student can graduate, receive a Diploma and register to take the Florida State Board Licensure Examination.
